SoGoCode LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our LocalSnip application ("the App") operates with respect to your information when you use our application available through the Mac App Store.

Key Point: LocalSnip processes your videos entirely on your device using local AI models. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data to our servers or any third-party services. Your videos, transcripts, and editing data never leave your Mac.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 No Data Collection

We do not collect any usage information, analytics, or diagnostic data. The App operates entirely on your device without sending any information to us or third parties.

2.2 Data Processed Locally on Your Device

The App processes the following data entirely on your Mac to provide its core functionality:

• Video files you select for processing
• Audio extracted from your videos (stored temporarily during processing)
• Speech transcripts generated by on-device AI models
• AI-generated clip recommendations and editing data
• Project files (.localsnip) saved to locations you choose
• Exported video clips saved to locations you choose

None of this data is transmitted to us, our servers, or any third party.

3. How We Use Your Information

Since we do not collect any data, your information is used solely by the App on your device to:

• Extract audio from your videos for transcription
• Generate speech transcripts using on-device AI models
• Analyze transcripts to identify engaging moments in your videos
• Provide timeline editing and clip management tools
• Export edited video clips to your chosen locations
• Save and restore project files for continued editing

All processing happens locally on your device. No video content, audio, transcripts, or AI analysis results are ever sent to external servers.

4. Network Usage

The App requires network access for one purpose only: downloading AI models during initial setup or when you select a new model. Models are downloaded from Hugging Face, a public AI model hosting platform.

Once models are downloaded to your device, the App can function entirely offline. No video content, audio, transcripts, or personal data is ever uploaded or transmitted over the network.

The App does not contact any servers for the purpose of uploading your video content, audio, or transcripts.

5. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage Only: All data processed by the App remains on your device. AI models are cached locally so they only need to be downloaded once. Temporary files created during video processing are automatically cleaned up.

App Sandbox: The App runs within the macOS App Sandbox, which restricts file access to only files you explicitly select through open and save dialogs. The App cannot access your files without your direct permission.

Your Data, Your Control: You retain complete ownership and control of all your data. Uninstalling the App removes all locally cached models and temporary files.

Security: Since all data remains on your device, it is protected by your Mac's built-in security measures and encryption.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not have access to your data and therefore cannot share it with anyone. Your videos, transcripts, and editing data never leave your device. We do not sell, trade, rent, or have any ability to access your personal information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Access: All your data is stored locally and accessible to you at all times
• Deletion: You can delete project files, exported clips, and cached AI models at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all cached data
• Permissions: You control which files the App can access through macOS open and save dialogs
• Offline Use: After downloading AI models, you can use the App entirely offline with no network connection

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App does not collect any personal information from any user, this concern is inherently addressed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through the App or via email if we have your contact information.
